The Lake and Pen Story

Lake & Pen Air is owned and operated by Dave & Jacque Wilder.  They live in Port Alsworth, the only town within the Lake Clark National Park & Preserve boundary.  Lake and Pen Air’s headquarters are in Port Alsworth on the scenic and spectacular Lake Clark, approximately 175 air miles SW of Anchorage.

Most of Alaska is off the road system, which leaves people with one efficient option - air transportation.  So it’s a great thing that Dave LOVES to fly.  The primary target of Lake and Pen Air is SW Alaska, but they fly all over the state as requests are made.

Dave has been flying since he was twenty-one.  And he’s been a commercial pilot in Alaska since 1969, logging an impressive 40,000+ hours.  Jacque was born and raised in Alaska by parents who homesteaded in 1942 in the tiny village of Pile Bay on Lake Iliamna.  With Dave’s invaluable knowledge of the Alaskan terrain and Jacque’s office skills, they created Lake and Peninsula Airlines in 1992.  It’s been a high flying success story since day one.  They continue to nurture a reputation as people of integrity, giving, service and safety.

Dave and Jacque spent many summers in Bristol Bay commercial fishing for Sockeye Salmon.  And they have passed along the skills and knowledge their parents gave them, to each new family member that arrives.  They love the outback Alaska lifestyle tremendously.
