The Lake and Pen Story

Lake & Pen Air is owned and operated by Dave & Jacque Wilder.  Dave has been commercial flying locally and all over the greater part of Alaska since 1969.

Dave has always loved to fly.  He realized his dream of flying the beautiful Alaskan skies and transferred his invaluable knowledge and skill to create a new Air Taxi company in 1992.

Jacque was born and raised in Alaska, coming from parents that homesteaded in 1942 on Lake Iliamna in the village of Pile Bay.

Both Dave & Jacque have commercially fished for Sockeye Salmon in Bristol Bay each summer for many years.  Passing their skills and knowledge on to each generation since has been natural, beginning with their own parents.  They love outback Alaska and have enjoyed the lifestyle tremendously.  Living in Alaska and getting around where few roads exist makes the use of airplanes a must.

Lake and Pen Air is home based at Port Alsworth on the scenic and spectacular Lake Clark, approximately 175 air miles SW of Anchorage.  If you make your way through the Lake Clark Pass and right near the Lake Clark National Park Headquarters, you’ll find us there.  The primary target of the company is SW Alaska but we fly most of the great state of Alaska as the need arises.

A satellite base in Anchorage exists at the downtown Merrill Field Airport, a short 15 minute taxi ride from Stevens International Airport.  We also serve out of Kenai, Alaska - now providing you with 3 wonderful bases of operation -   Anchorage, Kenai and Port Alsworth.
